BHA supports Berwickshire Guides Association

BHA Housing Officer Carolyn Veitch this week handed over a cheque for £300 to the Berwickshire Guides Association.

Guides County Commissioner for Berwickshire, Eileen McLean, explained that the money will either go towards materials for the Association’s brand new Guiding programme or helping to fund some adventures.

Berwickshire may be a small county but it has thriving Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units and two Senior Section units. We have around 500 members in 27 units as well as a lively Trefoil Guild which has recently doubled its membership.

We are a rural area stretching from Lauder and Earlston in the West over to Cockburnspath, Coldingham and Eyemouth in the East. In the middle you can find Chirnside, Duns and Coldstream.

We arrange fun and exciting experiences such as sleepovers, holidays, camps, days out and we run regular county events. Some of our girls take part in national adventures as well. All of this is provided by an enthusiastic group of leaders. If you want to join our adult team we are always keen to welcome new members. The adults have as much fun as the girls!
