This week saw Berwickshire Housing Association (BHA) provide the local community policing team with two pop-up police officers ‘Bob and Jim’.
PC Drew Young said:
“Pop up Bob and Jim will be deployed at a number of locations in Berwickshire and will hopefully act as an effective visual reminder to road users to stay within the law.
BHA’s Housing Services Manager Julie Riley added: “It’s great to be able to work alongside our partner agency Police Scotland via our Housing Officers Community fund. Pop up Bob and Jim will be placed at key locations outside and within the vicinity of schools and other areas where speeding is a concern to our residents.”
BHA allocated each of their three Housing Officers a small sum of money to contribute towards agencies, events or causes within the communities they manage.
Julie explained:
“We recognise that we have a significant presence within the communities we manage and whilst we do not have huge sums of money to donate we will endeavour to assist where we can to help our communities thrive and be safe.”
