Berwickshire Housing Association helped fund the provision of Easter and Afternoon Teas to the members of Duns Senior Citizens Club.
As a Club, Duns Senior Citizens have been unable to meet since February last year due to the Covid pandemic. However, with a grant from Age Scotland the club was able to deliver Afternoon Tea in a box to all its members in late August then a posy of flowers in October on the day they should have had their first meeting of the new session.
On the day that the club should have held its Christmas lunch, Christmas Tea in a box was delivered to all members courtesy of a grant from Scottish Borders Welfare Fund while Age Scotland came up with ‘Burns in a Bag’ which the club full took advantage of. All those deliveries have been so much appreciated by the club’s members.
For Easter the club provided Hot Cross Buns and an Easter Egg for its 46 members and then, in May/June, it is hoped to hold another Afternoon Tea. These will be delivered in partnership with BHA BeFriend thanks to a grant from BHA’s Community Initiatives Programme.
