Published on 5th November 2025

SafeConnect

SafeConnect are yellow fobs which can be programmed with a person’s emergency contact details, so if a person becomes confused, distressed or disoriented in their local community, they can be helped to get back home safely.

Following a successful local trial in partnership with Police Scotland, Alzheimer Scotland is now rolling out distribution of free SafeConnect fobs across Scotland for anyone living with a diagnosis of dementia

Order your SafeConnect pack

The SafeConnect pack contains a step-by-step guide to help you get your fob set up. To order your pack, contact Alzheimer Scotland’s Dementia Advisor Service on advice@alzscot.org or 0300 373 5774.

Once programmed, we recommend the fob is attached to your house keys, handbag, jacket, walking aid or anything likely to be taken outside and into the community.

You can also request a SafeConnect pack from Alzheimer Scotland by filling out this form.
