Scottish Housing Quality Standard
The Scottish Housing Quality Standard defines a new national standards that all of Scotland’s social housing stock will have to meet by 2015. The standard will require dwellings to be "healthy, safe and secure to live in", as well as:
- Free from serious disrepair - none of our properties is in serious disrepair.
- Energy efficient - we continue to replace obsolete and inefficient heating systems within our older properties and are piloting renewable energy systems in our new properties.
- Equipped with modern facilities and services - this is being achieved through our Standard Improvements Programme and Heating Replacement Programme.
Visit the Communities Scotland website for more information.
Berwickshire Housing Association is making good progress towards meeting the requirements of the Scottish Housing Quality Standards. A proportion of our homes are being updated via the Standard Improvement Programme and the Heating Replacement Programme as part of our effort to meet these new standards.
