Aims of the Housing Association
Berwickshire Housing Association's primary role remains that of a Registered Social Landlord. Our main aim has always been the provision of excellent and affordable housing and housing services, available to all people who need them.
We were set up principally to:
- Rent out good quality housing at affordable rents;
- Increase the supply of affordable rented housing;
- Play an active part in community life.
In all its activities Berwickshire Housing Association is committed to three main principles:
- Quality – Berwickshire Housing Association has been accredited as an Investor in People and with Quality Guild for over 6 years.
- Accountability – Local accountability is fundamental to us, with our membership drawn from local residents.
- Partnership - We work with many organisations such as other housing associations in the Scottish Borders, Scottish Borders Council, Berwick Borough Council and local authorities' Social Work departments.
